Installation and operating instructions SIE - DIE
Before commissioning, the pump and module must be at the ambient
temperature.
• Fill and bleed the system as required.
CAUTION! Damage to the pump!
Running dry will destroy the mechanical seal.
• Be certain that the pump does not run dry.
• To avoid cavitation noises and damage, a minimum inlet pressure
must be guaranteed at the suction port of the pump. This minimum
inlet pressure depends on the operation situation and the duty point
of the pump, and must be defined accordingly.
• The main parameters for defining the minimum inlet pressure are the
NPSH of the pump at its duty point and the vapour pressure of the
fluid.
1
• Bleed the pumps by loosening the bleed valves (Fig. 36, Item 1). A dry
run would destroy the mechanical seal of the pump. The differential
pressure sensor may not be bled (danger of destruction).
WARNING! Risk of scalding!
Depending on the temperature of the fluid and system pressure,
when the vent plug is opened completely, hot liquid or gaseous
fluid may escape or shoot out at high pressure.
• Only open the vent plug carefully.
WARNING! Risk of injury!
You could burn yourself if you touch the pump! Depending on the
pump or system operating conditions (fluid temperature), the
entire pump can become very hot.
• Allow to cool before working.
• Wear protective gloves.
When commissioning a double pump installation, both pumps are
reset to their works settings. Error code "E035" is displayed. For
DL-E pumps, the pump on the left by direction of flow is set in the
factory as the master pump.
After acknowledging the fault signal, the menu <5.1.2.0> is displayed
and "MA" (= master) flashes. In order to acknowledge "MA", the
"access disable" had to be deactivated and the service mode has to be
active (Fig. 37).
Both pumps are set to "master" and "MA" flashes on the displays of
both electronic modules.
• Press the acknowledge button on the pump that is in the left direction
of flow to confirm it as the master pump. The status "MA" appears on
the display of the master pump.
The other pump will then display the status "SL" (= slave).
NOTE
The procedure can be manually started later by selecting the menu
<5.1.2.0>.
(For information about navigation in the service menu, see 8.6.3
"Navigation" on page 64).
