During use
CAUTION
!
When using a communication unit with a radio, make sure that
there is no acoustic feedback from a second radio.
Acoustic feedback may cause hearing damage.
NOTICE
i
i
If the Bluetooth connection is interrupted, the communication unit
will automatically attempt to establish this connection again until
the radio is within range again. The voice amplifier unit remains
functioning during this process.
3.4.1
Establishing readiness for use
1. Put on the full face mask. Position the earphone over the nomex
hood and below the protective helmet.
2. Switch on the radio and the communication unit.
3. Check the functioning of the communication unit: The volume of
spoken words must be amplified.
4. Adjust the volume on the radio if necessary.
5. Check that the communication via the radio is working.
3.4.2
Interrupting the automatic shutdown sequence
If the communication unit is not in active use, the "AUTO OFF" warning
signal sounds after approx. 4 minutes. If no further audio signals are
received by the communication unit, it switches itself off after another
minute has passed. It then needs to be switched back on again.
To interrupt the automatic shut-down, send an audio signal to the
communication unit (e.g. speak into the full face mask).

3.4.3
Battery signals
The communication unit offers the following battery warning
thresholds:
Battery warning 1 at a battery voltage of approx. 25 %
The LED lights up in orange. Every 5 minutes an acoustic signal
sounds.
After the first warning the communication unit still has power for
approx. 1,5 hours of operation.
Battery warning 2 at a battery voltage of approx. 10 %
The LED flashes orange. Every 25 seconds an acoustic signal
sounds.
Dräger recommends exchanging the batteries after the first warning.
Shortly after the first warning, the communication unit deactivates.
The volume of the earphones decreases as the battery voltage
becomes lower.

After use
Clean the communication unit (see Chap. 5.2 on Page 32).
