Isolation device
An isolation device, see Figure 9, item 5, is to be installed to prevent a filter
explosion from propagating back into the plant through the connected duct.
The duct, see Figure 9, item 8, between the unit and the isolation device is to
be pressure-resistant to an overpressure of at least 0.5 bar (7.2 PSI) and have a
minimum length (Figure 9, item A) as specified in the manual of the isolation
device.
Description
Function
E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX has been designed to filter combustible and
non-combustible dust in a high vacuum system.
E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX is a complete vacuum unit with a direct-
driven side channel fan fitted as one unit on a steel frame and a start and
control unit with an integrated 24 V transformer. E-PAK 150 DX is direct
started, while E-PAK 300 DX/500 DX are Y/D started. The unit has automatic
start/stop and automatic filter cleaning in two stages.
Filtration in two stages
In the first stage, the inlet separates course particles. In the second stage, fine
particles are separated on conductive filter bags.
Automatic filter cleaning
E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX uses filter cleaning by a short blast of reversed
air flow with atmospheric pressure. By the rapid opening of the filter cleaning
valve located on top of the filter, a powerful blast of reversed air flow is
created, efficiently dislodging dust from the filter bags.
Figure 4 shows the function of E-PAK 150 DX/300 DX/500 DX according to
the following:
1.
Air flow during normal operation and collection of dust.
2.
Air with atmospheric pressure released into the filter during filter cleaning.
3.
Short blast of reversed air flow during filter cleaning.
4.
Filter cleaning valve.
