7.2 WASHING AND MAINTENANCE
POSITION
It is strictly prohibited to take the
cutting means assembly to the maintenance
position without having first activated
the equipment lift pedal (fig. 14.A).
1. Always put the parking brake on to make
sure the machine does not move (see also
the instructions provided in the ride-on
lawnmower with front cutting's manual).
2. If the cutting-means assembly has electric
cutting height adjustment, disconnect
the cable from the machine (fig. 8.A).
3. Activate the equipment lift pedal on the
ride-on lawnmower with front cutting
(fig. 14.A) and take the equipment to the
transport position (see also the instructions
provided in the ride-on lawnmower with
front cutting's instruction manual).
4. Pull the "Quick Flip" knob outwards (fig.
14.B) using your right hand so that the
cutting means assembly can be lifted.
5. With your left hand take hold of the cutting
means assembly (fig. 14.C) and lift
slightly. Release the "Quick Flip" knob.
6. Slowly lift until the maximum height has
been reached (you will hear a "click")
(fig. 15.A). The cutting means assembly
remains locked in the maintenance position
(fig. 15.B) "SERVICE POSITION".
7. Perform maintenance on the cutting means.
The machine is fitted with a safety
system which prevents the engagements of
the cutting-means assy when in maintenance
or transport position.
It is strictly prohibited to try to engage the
cutting means when the cutting means
assembly is in the maintenance position.
8. To return the cutting means assembly to
the transport position, pull the "Quick Flip"
knob out again and  gently lower the cutting
means manually. Once in the lowest position,
push the "Quick Flip" knob fully inwards.
9. Put the equipment lift pedal to the
operating position (see the instructions
provided in the machine's manual).
10. After cleaning using water, start the
machine and any cutting decks to remove
any water which may otherwise end up
in the bearings and cause damage.
7.3 FASTENERS
• Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure
the equipment is in safe working condition.
• At frequent intervals check all fasteners
on the discharge chute to ensure
they are securely tightened.
7.4
CLEANING
• Set the cutting-means assembly
to the washing position.
• Clean the bottom of the cutting-
means assembly with great care
using only water and a brush.
IMPORTANT Never use high-pressure water
jets. It could damage the electrical components.
• If during use any of the paintwork has got
scratched or come off, touch up when the
surfaces are completely clean and dry.
• Use non-perishable yellow paint for outdoor
applications which is suitable for metal.

8. UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE

8.1 CHECKING AND REPLACING
THE CUTTING DEVICE
NOTE A poorly sharpened cutting device
rips the grass causing the lawn to turn yello.
All operations concerning the cutting
deck assy (disassembling, sharpening,
balancing, assembling and/or replacement)
are tough works and require a specific
knowledge as well as special tools; for
sake of safety, they should always be
performed by an authorized service centre.
Always replace the entire cutting
means assembly when damaged,
crooked or warn, along with the
screws. This is to ensure balance.
IMPORTANT It is advisable to replace
cutting devices in pairs, especially in the
event of marked differences in wear.
IMPORTANT Always use genuine
cutting devices bearing the code indicated
in the "Technical Data" table.
Due to product evolution, the cutting
devices cited in the "Technical Data" may
be replaced by others, with similar features
of interchangeability and safe operation.
8.2 CHECKING AND REPLACING THE
CUTTING MEANS DRIVE BELT
