Water resistance
Your watch should be checked for water resistance by
a specialist every time the case is opened.
Recommendation: To ensure that the watch remains
water-resistant, we recommend you to have it checked
by an official IWC agent once a year.
Service and maintenance
of the GST Chrono-Automatic
All the components in your watch have been manufactu-
red from first-rate materials. Nevertheless, wear and
tear is inevitable in a mechanical movement. It is essen-
tial that moving parts are lubricated and that the move-
ment is cleaned to remove oil contaminated with minute
particles of metal. We therefore recommend that you
have your watch serviced every five years. For details,
contact an official IWC agent.
Using the chronograph
Start: By pressing the start/stop button (10).
Stop: By pressing the start/stop button (10) again.
Resetting: By pressing the re-set button (11) This re-
turns all three chronograph hands to the zero position
(12 o'clock).
Cumulative timing: Separate times can be aggregrated
simply by pressing the start/stop button again instead
of the reset button. The chronograph hands continue to
run from the position at which they were last stopped.
Seconds dial: At the edge of the main dial is the scale
for the central seconds counter (7).
Minutes dial: At the 12 o'clock position is a 30-minute
display with a hand (8) that completes one revolution
every half hour.
Hours dial: This display, adjacent to the 6 o'clock posi-
tion, has a continuously running hand and is divided into
12 one-hour units with half-hour subdivisions (9).
