Introduction
Congratulations on your new TRACTEL® Tracpode. This product
is a portable anchor point designed for use in the following ways :
Temporary anchor point complying with the requirements of
standard EN 795 B designed to receive :
• Fall-arresters complying with the requirements of stan-
dard EN363 (2002).
• Rescue lifting devices per EN 1496, class A or B (2006).
• Devices for working suspended on rope.
Lifting anchor point complying with machinery directive
98/37CEE
• Maximum load on feet without strap 250 kg (MUL).
• Maximum load on head with strap 500 kg (MUL).
Note : The loads indicated are maximum values which
must not be multiplied, under any circumstances,
by the number of anchor points on the head or legs
of the Tracpode.
Personnel lifting anchor point complying with machinery
directive 98/37/CEE – « lifting of persons » amendment com-
plying with the requirements of standard EN 1808 relative to
suspension structures §9.3
Note : If the user wishes to configure a complete person-
nel lifting system (pod + winch + anchor structure)
complying with standard EN 1808, a complete ana-
lysis of the risks must be carried out and the solu-
tion must be validated by a certified organization.
The TRACTEL® Tracpode has been designed and tested for use
without the strap at the base in the following ways:
- Temporary anchor point complying with requirements of stan-
dard EN 795 B for persons.
- Lifting anchor point complying with machinery directive
98/37CEE, 250kg max.
Note : For all loads exceeding 250 kg, the Tracpode legs
must not be used as an anchor facility. The user
must mandatorily secure the weight under the
Tracpode head and use the safety strap secured to
the three feet. In all cases, the Tracpode must not be
used with a load exceeding 500 kg.
When the Tracpode legs are used as an anchor point, it is
strictly prohibited to use products which have not been
certified by TRACTEL® SAS.

• Blocfor 20 R equipped with its mounting bracket code
018042.
• Blocfor 30 R equipped with its mounting bracket code
018062.
• 20 m Carol winch equipped with its mounting bracket code
058199 + 20m cable code 026459, max. load 250 kg.
• 30 m Carol winch equipped with its mounting bracket code
058209 + 30m cable code 026469, max. load 250 kg.
Warning
1. Before using a Tracpode, to ensure safe use of the equip-
ment, the user must fully understand the information given in
this manual and comply with the instructions given in this
manual. The manual must be accessible to all users.
Additional copies can be supplied on request.
2. Before using this safety equipment, you must be trained in
use of the equipment. Check the condition of the associated
components (harness, connectors). The equipment has a
recommended service life of 10 years based on the results
obtained from periodic inspections and maintenance opera-
tions performed on the equipment.
3. The Tracpode can be used by one or two trained and quali-
fied persons, or under the supervision of a third person.
4. If the Tracpode does not appear to be in good condition or if
it has already served to stop a fall, or if there is any doubt
concerning its efficiency, the complete set of equipment must
be inspected by Tractel® S.A.S or by a qualified technician
who must provide a written authorization before the system
can be used again.
5. Before each use, the equipment must be visually inspected for:
• The condition of the rubber pads under the Tracpode feet :
if damaged, unglued or torn, the adhesion of the feet on
the ground will not be correctly ensured.
• Under these conditions, the Tracpode must not be used
without the feet securing strap. Replace the strap if any
signs of damage are observed.
• The condition of the tube locking pins : the pins must not
be bent or damaged, ...
• The condition of the structure : aluminum tubes, steel
head must not show any deformation.
6. The three legs must be adjusted to the same length and the
Tracpode must be placed on a horizontal surface.
7. Any changes or additions to the equipment are prohibited
without the prior written approval of Tractel® S.A.S.
The equipment must be transported and stored in its original
package or in a transport bag designed for this purpose, sup-
plied optionally under code 031572.
