10. Notes on use of battery GA 616
The GA 616 battery is a high-performance NiMH battery with
integrated electronics and power supply. Thanks to its unique design
and computer-controlled charger, the battery has an unusually long
service life.
IMPORTANT
Heating the rechargeable battery to temperatures exceeding
65 °C will reduce the battery's capacity. Subjecting the battery to
such temperatures for an extended period will ruin it.
Do not heat the battery to temperatures exceeding 65 °C.
IMPORTANT
If the poles of the battery (either top side or down side) are
connected by metal or liquid, high current will flow (comparable
with a car battery). The battery may be heated up extremely and
be destroyed and it may even damage surrounding objects (danger
of fire).
Avoid a short-circuit.
Therefore we recommend to treat the battery as follows:
Store the battery at room temperature.
11. Recognizing and remedying errors
Fault
Saw blade not moving
Inadequate cutting
performance of saw blades
Saw blade cannot be coupled Dirt
Saw blade cannot be
uncoupled
18
Cause
Defective gearing
Blunt saw blade
Performance or speed of drive
insufficient
Inadequate chip removal
Deformation
Wrong saw blade
Rotary knob/pushbutton not
opened and/or not depressed
Rotary knob/pushbutton not
opened
Do not sterilize or desinfect the battery by any means. As the
battery is completely sealed inside the housing of the machine the
contamination of the OR-field by the battery is not possible. Thus,
disinfection or sterilization is not necessary.
Always keep the battery dry.
Never immerse the battery in fluids.
Never place the battery on wet surfaces.
Always make sure that the sockets of the charging unit are dry
inside before you put the battery in. If this is not the case, dry the
sockets with a cloth.
Do not place or run the charging unit and the battery near to places
where you handle fluids (instrument cleaning, infusions, etc.).
If you take these measures, your ACCULAN system is sure to serve you
well. If you have any questions concerning the ACCULAN system, con-
tact your medical product adviser.
