ACCULAN sagittal saw GA 633

7. Operation

Prevention of inadvertent activation
To prevent inadvertent activation (e.g. when changing the saw blade),
the machine is equipped with a catch on the trigger for controlling the
oscillation frequency.
Explanation of symbols
ON: The machine is ready for operation.
OFF: The trigger 8 is blocked. The machine cannot be put into oper-
ation.
a)
By turning the trigger catch to the OFF position, you can block
the trigger for controlling the oscillation frequency. Inadvertent
operation of the machine is thus prevented.
b)
By turning the trigger catch to the ON position, the trigger for
controlling the oscillation frequency is released.
The machine is now ready for operation.
Fig. 6
When the trigger 8 is pressed, the machine operates with a con-
trollable oscillation frequency of 0-15,000
Note
Owing to the electronics used, a quiet whistling sound is heard shortly
before the soft start-up of the sagittal saw; however, this sound in-
creasingly diminishes immediately the saw starts operating again.
Begin with a moderate oscillation frequency until the saw blade is
guided in the cut and then increase the oscillation frequency dur-
ing the sawing process.
The best cutting performance is achieved at high drive speed in
combination with a slight to-and-fro movement of the sagittal
saw; this results in better chip removal.
Take care not to bend or twist the saw blade during the sawing
process. Otherwise, there is a danger that the saw blade will break.

7.1 Fixing the saw blade

WARNING
Inadvertent activation of the saw can cause injuries from the saw
blade!
Ensure that the trigger is blocked before changing the saw
blade!
Turn the catch on the trigger 8 to the OFF position.

Preparation
Push the sliding catch 9 to the left.
Turn the knob/pushbutton 10 several revolutions counterclockwise
as far as it will go.

Insert saw blade
Press the knob/pushbutton 10 towards the saw head.
Insert the saw blade 7 into the pins of the saw blade coupling.

Fix saw blade
Press the sliding catch 9 to the right.
Turn the rotary knob/pushbutton 10 clockwise to the stop.
Tighten the rotary knob/pushbutton 10.
The saw blade coupling is now secured to prevent inadvertent
opening.

Functional test
Check whether the saw blade fits firmly in the coupling by bending
the saw blade up and down with gentle pressure. The saw blade
coupling must not open.
The sliding catch 9 must have been pushed fully to the right.
