7. Repair, maintenance and disposal

The Ants LES01 basically requires minimal maintenance work.

7.1 Regular maintenance of the Ants LES01

7.2 Replacement of components

The sliding jaws of the Ants LES01 can be replaced easily and quickly, if necessary. For this purpose,
remove the aluminum strip protruding from the housing. Then push out the outer sliding jaw with a
screwdriver before the band can be removed. Then remove the inner sliding jaw with a screwdriver.
Always make sure not to damage the printed circuit board inside the encoder.
Defective devices can only be replaced as a whole. Replacement of the entire device is also necessa-
ry if fastening parts are bent or damaged in another way.
7.3 Traceability
Ensuring the traceability of products fiulfilling functional safety tasks is recommended. This is essential
for a quick reaction in the market. The Ants LES01 is factory-equipped with an unique serial number,
which makes it traceable up to production.

The band and encoder must be cleaned during all regular maintenance
of the elevator. The fasteners must be inspected for correct and firm
seating. The tension of the springs must be checked. This must take
place at least 1 x per year.
Proceed as follows in the course of regular maintenance of the elevator:
1. Ensure that the band is guided correctly in the sliding jaws.
2. Check the sliding jaws for excessive wear or soiling. Replace them
as necessary. Also pay attention to the second sliding jaw in the
interior of the reading device! Carefully remove it with a screwdriver.
3. Clean the encoder in order to remove heavy soiling.
4. Inspect the band for dirt, damage and foreign objects.
5. Check the firm and correct seating of the fastening rails of the band
and of the fastening of the encoder.
6. Check the tension of the band based on the expansion of the
spring (see chapter 4).
7. Clean the band by cleaning off dirt with a rag during an inspection
run. Avoid rags that can leave impurities such as lint in the holes.
These steps must be carried out at least 1 x per year. If there are
irreparable defects, continued operation of the system is prohibited. In
case of doubt, contact the manufacturer.
