Place wire nut and fuse holder in the battery box. Close battery box and
secure cover with the safety closure strap.
Plug control unit into 115 volt outlet. The red power ON light and yellow
CHARGING light will be on. When battery is fully charged, the yellow
and green light will light alternately.
Check the back-up pump operation by manually lifting the float switch.
Lower the float switch immediately after the pump starts. This will turn
the pump off. Do not run the pump dry for long periods. This may cause
overheating and damage pump seals. When the pump starts, the alarm
will sound. Press the reset switch to turn the alarm off.
For final testing, run water into the sump until the back-up pump is
activated by the float. The alarm will sound. The yellow and green light
will be lit alternately. Turn alarm off with the reset switch.
Restore power to the primary pump. The pump should come on and
lower the water level in the sump back to the normal operating level
and shut off. Both primary and backup systems are now ready to use.
SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY AND PRIMARY PUMP
FROM THEIR POWER SOURCE BEFORE HANDLING THE
COMPONENTS OF YOUR BACK-UP PUMP OR THE PRIMARY
PUMP. FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS
PROVIDED BY THE BATTERY MANUFACTURER.
Check system every three months. Operate back-up system as
described in the operation section of the manual and make sure that the
system is functioning properly.
Check battery every three months as follows:
a. Unplug charger unit.
b. Check electrolyte level in battery and refill with distilled water
when necessary according to battery manufacturer's instructions.
c. Check battery terminals for tightness and corrosion. Clean and
tighten as needed.
d. Plug in charger unit.
