Risk of injury due to friction and edges
Do not remove the coded band from the cardboard box, as it must
unreel from the box while the elevator moves downwards.
Do not touch the coded band pulled out.
Risk of hand injuries due to spring force
When overcoming the force of the spring for attaching to the rail
fastening plate, take care not to trap the hands and fingers.
Make sure that the spring is securely attached.
Cutting hazard
• Only cut the bottom end of the coded band to length with a suitable
tool, e.g. tin snips.
• After cutting to length, deburr the the cut edge of the coded band
using e.g. a diamond file.
• Do not re-use the rest of the coded band cut off on site. Dispose of
it in an environmentally friendly manner, see Disposal [} 49].
Distances coded band end and large holes for fastening with
carabiner
Connect the rail fastening plate and the coded band with a carabiner.
Comply with the prescribed distance between large hole and coded
band end. This distance must be at least 5 mm without exceeding
15 mm.
Distance of the coded band to moving parts of the elevator
Make sure that the distance from the coded band to moving parts of
the elevator is at least 50 mm [1.97] in any car position. The only ex-
ception is the passage through the sensor itself.
Make sure that there is no dirt or foreign bodies on the coded band.
