The steps necessary for replacing the slides are represented as a sequence of graphics at the
end of this operation manual, see Graphics [} 154].
The illustrations used for this purpose are examples intended to describe the operating prin-
ciple.
The following partial steps will lead to successful slide replacement:
a) Loosen the locking element and remove the front slide [} 157].
b) Turn the slides if the other side still can be used. If wear is too high or if the slides have
already been turned, replace them with new slides (order code 8.LEX.ZB.0002).
c) Insert the coded band and the slides and fasten the locking element [} 157].
6.4 Cleaning the Measuring System
Proceed as follows to clean the measuring system:
• Check the coded band and the sensor for dirt, damages and foreign bodies.
• Use a dry lint-free cloth for cleaning, do not use detergents.
– Clean the sensor to remove heavy dust accumulation.
– Remove dirt from the coded band during the inspection run.
6.5 Disassembly
To dismount the device, proceed in the reverse order of the assembly, see chapters
Electrical Installation [} 43] and Mechanical Installation [} 36].
6.6 Reassembly
Reassembling the device is only permitted under the following conditions:
• The device is not damaged.
• The screws can be newly secured against loosening.
• All safety instructions of chapter Installation [} 36] can be complied with.
• All assembly steps described in chapter Installation [} 36] can be performed.

cording to the country-specific provisions and in compliance with the waste disposal regulations
