4.1.9 Step by Step Installation

The steps necessary for mounting the measuring system are represented as a sequence of
graphics at the end of this operation manual, see Graphics [} 154].
The illustrations used for this purpose are examples intended to describe the operating prin-
ciple.
The following partial steps will lead to successful installation of the measuring system:
a) Analyze the construction plan and/or the plan of the shaft for the free run of the coded band
and the consistent sensor fastening on the car roof [} 154].
b) Mount the rail fastening plate in the shaft head [} 154].
Secure the screws against loosening, see chapter Screw Retention [} 42].
c) Attach the carabiner and the coded band [} 155].
d) Uncoil the coded band up to the shaft pit [} 155].
e) Mount the rail fastening plate in the shaft pit [} 156]. Secure the screws against loosening,
see chapter Screw Retention [} 42].
f) Shorten the coded band to the required length, attach the carabiner and the securing band
to the tension spring and attach the tension spring [} 156].
g) Loosen the locking element and remove the front slide [} 157].
h) Insert the coded band and the slides and fasten the locking element [} 157].
i) Mount the sensor on the car fastening plate and mount the plate on the car roof [} 158].
j) Carry out the adjustment (e. g. with a short test travel) and tighten the screwed connections
[} 158]. Secure the screws against loosening, see chapter Screw Retention [} 42].

4.2 Electrical Installation

Destruction of the device
Before connecting or disconnecting the signal cable, always discon-
nect the power supply and secure it against switching on again.
General safety instructions
Make sure that the whole plant remains switched off during the elec-
trical installation.
• Make sure that the operating voltage is switched on or off simultan-
eously for the device and the downstream device.
Other applicable manuals
Comply with the further relevant documentation such as data sheet,
operation manual and sensor manual, as well as with the corres-
ponding documents of the evaluation unit or of the elevator control.
