Connection of battery charger
A battery charger can be connected directly in parallel to the alternator; see 'Function of
the terminals, B+ ALTERNATOR'.
If the diode splitter is used in combination with certain types of battery chargers the prob-
lem may arise that every time the power supply (230 Volt) has been interrupted the charg-
er must be switched on again.
This problem will occur with certain versions of the Vetus battery chargers model BC15,
BC25 and BC30. Consult your dealer for modification if desired.
A battery charger with built-in diode splitter, e.g. Vetus BC50 or BC60, gives the possibili-
ty to charge 2 batteries without the use of an extra diode splitter.
In such a case use the diode splitter only for the charge current of the alternator.
When 3 batteries must be charged simultaneously then it is necessary to use a separate
diode splitter.
The problem that after every time the power supply has been interrupted the charger must
be switched on again will also occur with certain versions of the Vetus battery chargers
model BC50 and BC60. Consult your dealer for modification if desired.
