In the SAT TV band, unit becomes a signal detector, i.e.: meter will detect any
signal at the input, within the 950 to 2050 MHz band, irrespective of frequency
and tuning control position [14]. It must be pointed out that, in this operating
mode, instrument reading is not calibrated.
[5]
TV BAND SELECTOR: By pressing each of these three controls, the
equipment may be used in each following frequency ranges:
VHF
: 48 MHz to 169 MHz band is selected, which includes the 87 to 109
L
MHz FM broadcasting band.
VHF
: 175 MHz to 464 MHz band is selected.
H
UHF:
471 MHz to 856 MHz band is selected.
[6]
SAT SELECTOR: For using the MC-360B in the 950 to 2050 MHz band,
according to SAT TV. This function must be also enabled when using the
detector mode.
[7]
EXTERNAL UNITS POWER SUPPLY SELECTOR: Selection of the different
supply voltages and modes of the external unit.
13 V: LNB is supplied with 13 volts from the MC-360B.
15 V: LNB is supplied with 15 volts from the MC-360B.
18 V: LNB is supplied with 18 volts from the MC-360B.
EXT:
By depressing partially one key being enabled, all three keys will
release and stand by. This position is the only to allow LNB to be
supplied (connected to RF INPUT [1] of unit) with that voltage applied
on connector [2]. Usually, this voltage will be that one supplied by the
internal unit or receiver (connected to the output [2]. In this position,
both biasing and shortcircuit indicators [8] and [9] are still working.
[8]
DRAIN: This green lighting indicador will be on-line when the LNB
consumption remains within the specified range (60-350 mA).
[9]
DISABLED: This red indicador will be alight as soon as LNB power supply
gets overcharged (> 350 mA), or when it is disabled in order to protect
external devices (see 4.2.2). It may also become activated should the battery
become very discharged.
[10]
, : This pushbutton selects the variable tone acoustical signal, or the
FM/AM demodulated audio output selected with pushbutton [11].
[11] FM/AM: This switch selects FM or AM demodulation alternatively. On
pressing this key, the FM demodulator is selected.
On the SAT band the variable tone is permanently selected and this control
can be used to activate or deactivate the 22 kHz LNB control signal.
[12] OFF/VOLUME: Start switch and volume control of the acoustical output, both
for variable tone and audio.
[13] BAT CHG: Battery charge indicator.
[14] TUNING: multi-turn resolution tuning control.
