Using the unit
The operating mode of the unit is different depending on the type of installation where the inverter is to be used.
To select the mode type, access Configuration > Advanced Settings > Operation Mode.
Setting
Stand Alone

Self Consumption
After selecting the inverter operation mode, the following parameters must be set:
Setting
SOC Max
Maximum state of charge for charging the batteries from the photovoltaic energy (%).
Maximum state of charge for charging the batteries from the generator. In addition, it disconnects the
SOC Off
generator if it has been started by SOC On (%).
SOC On
Minimum state of charge for starting the auxiliary generator (%).
State of charge above which the power supply to the loads is restarted, once coming from SOC Descx
SOC Recx
(%).
SOC Descx
Charge status below which the power supply to the loads is stopped (%).
Setting
SOC Max
Maximum state of charge for charging the batteries from the photovoltaic energy (%).
SOC Grid
Maximum state of charge for charging the batteries from the public grid (%).
Charge status above which the power supply to the critical loads is restarted, once coming from SOC
SOC Recx
Descx (%).
SOC Descx
Charge status below which the power supply to the critical loads when the grid is not available (%).
Setting
SOC Max
Maximum state of charge for charging the batteries from the photovoltaic energy (%).
Charge status above which the battery discharge resumes, once coming from SOC Descx (%).
SOC Recovery
This prevents excessive battery cycling, extending their working life.
Charge status under which battery discharge is not allowed when the grid is available. SOC Recovery
SOC Min
must be reached to resume the self consumption with battery input.
In the event of a power outage, the energy required for critical loads is supplied from the batteries
Battery-Backup
and PV array. If this function is activated, the SOC Recx and SOC Descx parameters need to be
configured.
Charge status above which the power supply to the critical loads is restarted, once coming from SOC
SOC Recx
Descx (%).
Charge status below which the power supply to the critical loads when the grid is not available and
SOC Descx
the Battery-Backup function is enabled (%).
ABH2014IQM01_A - Installation and Operation Manual
The inverter generates an alternative stand-alone grid and acts as a grid manager,
guaranteeing the balance between photovoltaic generation, consumption and the batteries.
It allows the connection of an auxiliary generator for charging the batteries in the event of a
power shortage.
This operating mode was designed for systems connected to the distribution grid, where grid
outages are long and frequent. During a grid outage the energy stored in the batteries is used
to supply the loads. To do so, the batteries remain charged while the grid is available and the
photovoltaic energy is used to supply the consumers, reducing energy consumption from the
grid. Grid supply of photovoltaic excess is user configurable.
The inverter manages the energy flows within the installation to minimize consumption from
the distribution grid and increase self-supply. The Battery-Back Up function can be activated
in this operation mode. With this functionality, in the event of a power outage the inverter
provides the energy required for critical loads from the batteries and PV array. The grid feed-in
of photovoltaic excess and the scheduling for charging batteries from the grid is configurable
by the user.
