NEW BATTERY, STARTUP SEQUENCE

1. Each time you put in a new set of batteries, the gage will go through a startup sequence.
2. The sequence starts out with Fig.2A and proceeds to Fig.2E. At the end of the
sequence, the display will stay at Fig.2E (CAL) and wait for your input.
3. When "CAL" is displayed, move the slide slowly up or down, until the display
changes to show the gage measuring. This movement will calibrate the indicator.

4. If you don't move the slide, "Cal" will stay on the display for only 10 seconds and
the display will go blank. To return to "Cal" mode move the slide or quickly press
the on/off button.
5. If you move the slide too fast it will take longer for the tool to initialize. This start
up feature will happen each time a battery is replaced, but will not happen each
time you turn on the gage.
