LIFESPAN, INSPECTION, RETIREMENT AND DISPOSAL
Lifespan
The JetForce UL System is certified for 20 full deployments and 40 trigger
tests, not involving inflation. With normal use and proper care, the typical lifes-
pan of a JetForce UL Backpack is five years; the actual lifespan can be longer
or shorter depending on how frequently you use it and on the conditions of use;
the maximum lifespan is up to 10 years from the date of manufacture, even if
unused and properly stored. The cartridges are designed to have a service life
of 10 years after fabrication date. Upon reaching the rated number of deploy-
ments or maximum lifespan, the pack must be retired and destroyed to prevent
future use. Factors that will reduce the lifespan of a JetForce UL Backpack:
Falls, abrasion, wear, prolonged exposure to sunlight, salt water/air, corrosive
chemicals, harsh environments or misuse of the Inflation Unit. After deployment
in an avalanche it is recommended to retire your JetForce UL Backpack.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect your JetForce UL Backpack for signs of damage and wear before and
after each use.
1. Inspect the airbag for punctures, tears, abrasion, or any damage that may
prevent it from holding air.
2. Inspect the attachment points (11a) between the airbag and pack for
damage.
3. Inspect the Inflation Unit (1e) for cracks, dents, or other damage.
4. Inspect the Deployment Handle (1c) to ensure it is in the proper position
