Pushthe PTOswitchdownintothe DISENGAGED position.
2.
Movethe RH and LH drivecontrolleversoutwardto the neutral
position.
3.
Engagethe parkingbrakeO.
4.
Movethe throttlecontrol to midwaybetweenthe SLOW_
and
FAST_
positions.
5.
Turnthe ignitionkeyto the STOP6 positionand removethe key
from the ignitionswitch.
NOTE:Alwaysremovethe keyfrom the ignitionswitchto preventacci-
dentalstartingor batterydischargeif the equipmentis Idt unattended.
PRACTICE
OPERATION
(INITIAL
USE)
Operating a zero-turnridingmoweris notlikeoperating a conventional
type ridingmower.Because a zeroturn ridingmoweris moremaneuver-
able,gettingusedto operatingthecontrolleverstakessomepractice.
Westronglyrecommend that you locatea reasonablylarge,leveland
open "practicearea"wherethereare no obstructions,pedestrians, o r
animals.Youshouldpracticeoperatingthe riding mowerfor a minimum
of 30 minutes.
Carefullymove-- or havean experiencedusermove-- the riding
mowerto the practicearea.Whenperformingthe practicesession,
the PTOshouldnot be engaged.Whilepracticing,operatethe riding
mowerat approximately 1/2to 3/4throttleand at less thanfull speedin
bothforwardand reverse.
Use protectiveequipmentforeyes,hands,hearing,feet, legs,head
and otherareasof the bodyif needed-- safetyeyeglasses,gloves,
earplugs,boots,hats,etc.
HearingProtectionis requiredfor all operatorexposureexceeding
two (2) hours.
Carefullypracticemaneuvering the ridingmowerusingthe instructions
in thefollowingsection"Drivingthe Ridingmower."Practiceuntil you
are confidentthat youcan safelyoperatethe ridingmower.
DRIVING
THE RIDING MOWER
Avoidsuddenstarts,excessivespeedand suddenstops.

Adjust theoperator'sseat to the mostcomfortablepositionthat
allowsyou to operatethe controls.See seatadjustmentin the
Assemblysection.
2.
ReleasetheparkingbrakeO.
3.
Movethe RHand LHdrivecontrol leversinwardin the neutral
