using the appliance. Keep solvents and other
inflammable liquids far from the dryer, in a
dry and airy place unavailable to unauthor-
ised personnel.
Store cleaning products and wax far from
the reach of children, in safely locked com-
partments.
Use this appliance to dry only waterwashed
fabrics that admit tumble drying.
Check that the manufacturers' labels on gar-
ments allow tumble drying.
Do not allow children to play with or near the
dryer. Touching the drum or the laundry
during operation can cause burns. In case of
accidental contact, see a doctor. Do not
smoke near the dryer or during operation.
Do not ignore safety devices. Maintenance
or servicing can be carried out by authorised
personnel only.
Do not switch the appliance off when tem-
perature in the drum is above 50°C.
If a black-out should occur during operation,
open the door and start the machine again as
soon as power is back.
The moisture content recommended for
maximum energy saving is 5-20%.
Do not use your appliance to dry unspun
garments or fabrics containing more than
100% of moisture, or else split the load into
two different cycles.
Do not wait for the dryer to be cold before
starting a new cycle.
The dryer performs best when ambient hu-
midity is low: prefer fine days for operation.
To calculate residual moisture weigh the
laundry before washing and after drying.
The difference between these two values is
water content. The number obtained by di-
viding water content by the initial load is
residual moisture.
Before moving or servicing the dryer and at
any rate after finishing operation, discon-
nect the electric supply and unplug without
pulling the cord. Shut gas cock.
After servicing, make sure the machine is
entirely reassembled and parts preventing
accidental access to moving and live com-
ponents are back in place.
Keep this manual with the appliance and
make it available to all present or prospec-
tive operators.
Do not use antistatic solutions or detergents
unless they are recommended by the manu-
facturers.
Do not let the appliance on in vain.
Turn off the main cut-off and emergency
switches. Leave gas stopcocks shut when
the appliance is not being used.
During operation: Do not touch parts af-
fected by hot air, like exhaust ducts, door
glass, upper lid or panel, which could be hot
even 30 minutes after the end of the cycle.
7.4 INFORMATION ON SPECIAL USE
AND SAFETY MEASURES
The drum must be unloaded on a trolley that
is not higher than the lowest edge of the
door.
It may be useful to mount bumpers on the
sides and front to avoid the dryer being
damaged by the trolleys.
When carrying out the very first cycle, it is
advisable to load the dryer with useless rags
to remove all traces of manufacturing grease.
WARNING
Observe a proper behaviour near the ma-
chine and when it is working. Never cut out
safety devices and always use original spare
parts.
Follow the instructions contained in this
booklet for any necessary servicing. Before
any jobs consult our engineering office: re-
port model and serial number. Unplug the
appliance prior to any servicing jobs.
7.5 ORDINARY MAINTENANCE TO
BE PERFORMED BY THE USER
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY MAIN-
TENANCE PROCEDURE, DISCONNECT
THE APPLIANCE FROM THE POWER
SUPPLY BY THE MAIN CUTOFF
SWITCH ON THE WALL AND SHUT
THE GAS COCK.
Periodically wipe the external panels with a
damp cloth. Never use flammable or abra-
sive products.
Do not use water jets to wash the appli-
ance.
Vacuum up the inside of the drum.
Remove the filter lid and check that the
filtering net is in good working order.
Remove the filter and clean the exhaust
(suction) fan, yet check that the fan is not
moving first.
PRIOR TO CONNECTING POWER SUP-
PLY AGAIN BY THE MAIN CUTOFF
SWITCH ON THE WALL, PUT ALL THE
REMOVED PANELS BACK IN PLACE.
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Clean the dryer inside, the heating elements
and fumes tube. Check that the door
microswitch locks the door properly.
Check that safety devices like the safety
thermostat, earth connection and automatic
cutout are in good working order.
Clean the fumes pipe and main line.

8. TIPS FOR EXTRAORDINARY
MAINTENANCE AND PROCURE-
MENT OF SPARE PARTS
8.1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR TROUBLE
SHOOTING
In case of machine failure, check the fol-
lowing:
15
The main cutoff switch on the wall is on and
the machine is getting current.
The gas cock is open.
Gas pressure is sufficient.
The door is closed.
The start push button has been pressed.
Laundry load does not exceed drum capac-
ity.
ONCE SUCH STEPS HAVE BEEN EI-
THER CHECKED OR SORTED OUT, IF
THE FAULT HAS NOT DISAPPEARED,
CALL THE LICENSED ASSISTANCE
CENTRE OR DEALER (see last page).
If drying time is too long, check the fol-
lowing:
The moisture contained by the laundry did
not exceed 100% before loading.
The cycle selected is correct (considering
time, temperature and other values).
- The laundry load does not exceed the rated
capacity.
- Test that the dryer can reach max. tempera-
ture in 5 minutes with the drum empty.
ONCE SUCH STEPS HAVE BEEN EI-
THER CHECKED OR SORTED OUT, IF
THE FAULT HAS NOT DISAPPEARED,
CALL THE LICENSED ASSISTANCE
CENTRE OR DEALER (see last page).
If the laundry comes out too dry, check
the following :
When loaded the fabrics were containing
less moisture than usual.
The selected cycle is correct (considering
time, temperature and other values).
The laundry load complies with the rated
capacity.
ONCE SUCH STEPS HAVE BEEN EI-
THER CHECKED OR SORTED OUT, IF
THE FAULT HAS NOT DISAPPEARED,
CALL THE LICENSED ASSISTANCE
CENTRE OR DEALER (see last page).
8.2 SAFETY DEVICES
- A microswitch indicates when door is
open.
- A flame detector shuts the gas off when
flame fails.
8.3 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE BY
TECHNICAL PERSONNEL
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, DIS-
CONNECT THE APPLIANCE FROM
THE POWER SUPPLY BY THE MAIN
CUTOFF SWITCH ON THE WALL
AND SHUT THE GAS COCK.
Maintenance must be carried out only by the
licensed after-sales service or by qualified
personnel.
Be very careful during maintenance. NEVER
exclude safety devices, for no reason what-
soever. Use original spare parts. Should
doubts arise, call our technical office oppor-
tunely, reporting the appliance model and
serial number, as indicated in the rating plate
located in the rear part of the machine.
