5.2.3 - MAXIMUM CROSS-CHAIN COMBINATIONS
WARNING!
When using the bicycle, always avoid sprocket / gear combinations at the oppo-
site extremes, or rather engaging both the smallest sprocket and the smallest
gear, or vice versa, as this could result in a malfunction, causing noise, premature
wear, and damage to the components themselves.
If this type of situation should occur, select a different sprocket / gear combi-
nation.
Before each use and after a fall or collision, check that the component does not exhibit
any of the following problems:
• abnormal noise from front derailleur
• bent derailleur cage
