Principle of Operation & Application
This pump is designed for supplying fresh or saltwater for targeted high pressure washdown on a leisure marine
vessel only. If it is intended for use for any other purpose, it is the user's responsibility to ensure that the pump is
suitable for the intended use. Models are available for either 12V d.c. or 24 V d.c. electrical supply only.

Please read the following carefully before installation.
WARNING: Please note that incorrect installation may invalidate the warranty.
To the Fitter
Check that the product is suitable for the intended application, follow these installation instructions and ensure all
relevant personnel read the points listed below. Also ensure that these operating instructions are passed on to the end
user.
Safety
•
With all applications, it is important that a system of safe working practice is applied to installation, use and
maintenance.
•
CAUTION: Pump not intended for continuous use. Maximum duty cycle < 33%
Fire hazard. Wiring must comply with applicable electrical standards and include a properly sized fuse or

circuit breaker. Improper wiring can cause a fi re resulting in injury or death. Switch off the power while making
connections. Suggested wiring information is given as guidance only. For full information, refer to the USCG,
ABYC and ISO regulations for marine applications and wiring gauges, connectors and fuse protection.
•
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•
Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•
Any alteration to the appliance, misuse or use of non-original Whale parts may invalidate the warranty. Non
observation of the installation and operating instructions will lead to cancellation of the warranty and exclusion
of liability claims.
•
For use in recreational marine vessels only, for salt water or freshwater use only. Not suitable for use with any
other liquid.
•
For use in non-potable water systems in line with ABYC H-23 standards.
•
Not suitable for pumping fl ammable liquids, diesel, chemicals etc.
•
Incorrect installation may invalidate the warranty.
Pump Installation
•
Preparation - Ensure the electric supply is turned off and water system is drained before installation.
Mounting Instructions (
NOTE: Pump must NOT be installed below the waterline when connected to an intake below the waterline.
1.
Locate in a dry position with adequate ventilation, no more than 9 feet (3 metres) away from the tank or water
source. NOTE ensure the pump cannot be submerged or sprayed by water.
2.
Pump and deck socket must be fi tted in areas isolated from a fuel source, e.g. gasoline, LPG, CNG etc. or
any other fl ammable materials or fl uids, in accordance to ISO10133 and ABYC E-11. Failure to comply may
result in fi re, resulting in injury or death.
3.
Do not screw pump directly to the hull. Must be mounted on a bulkhead or additional board with a mounting
surface minimum thickness of ¾ inch (19mm).
4.
Use screws (not supplied) to fasten pump to solid surface.
Electrical Wiring (
•
Please note that wiring must be carried out by a qualifi ed electrician.
•
WARNING: Fire hazard. Wiring must comply with applicable electrical standards and include a properly rated
fuse or circuit breaker (see specifi cation table for fuse rating).
•
WARNING: Improper wiring can cause a fi re resulting in injury or death.
•
NOTE: Switch off the power prior to making connections. Suggested wiring information is given as a guide
