5.2.2.2 Upper Bead Extraction
Using the Automatic Tool:
• Move the tool manually downwards using Joystick
11 (Figure 5.2-6). This will activate the automation
that by moving forward will bring the tool (Figure
5.2-9) deeper inside between tyre and rim.
Continue moving it downwards until you hear an
acoustic warning (the AUTO key starts fl ashing).
Note:
The operator can manually correct the
position of the tool downwards and
horizontally. Nevertheless, if there are
too many corrections, the SW will end the
AUTO mode and restore the MANUAL
mode of the tyre changer.
Note:
During this phase the turntable must not
be rotated.
• Position the bead presser at 180° compared to the
tool, and press the sidewall of the tyre by following
the indications in para. 5.2.3.
• Manually move the tool (Figure 5.2-10) upwards
and continue the upstroke until an acoustic signal
is triggered (the AUTO key turns off and the AUTO
mode is ended) (Figure 5.2-11).
Note:
During this phase the turntable must not
be rotated.
• Activate the clockwise rotation and, at the same
time, press on the sidewall of the tyre to keep the
bead in the channel, until the bead extraction has
been completed (Figure 5.2-11)
• Free the tool from the tyre bead and press the
HOME key to set the tool back to the rest position.
Note:
throughout the entire automatic activation
phase, the rim lock/release controls
are disabled. Quit the AUTO mode to
reactivate them.
