How to Prepare the Building Site
and Anchor the Building
· Construct foundation (concrete slab or wooden platform)
and anchor base channels before assembling your
building. Foundation and anchoring materials are not
included.
· Make sure that your building complies with your
local building codes.
· Select a location that provides suitable drainage, ample
room to erect the building, and an area that can be
levelled properly.
· Decide on the type of foundation.
· Foundation must be complete before unpacking and
assembly can begin.
· In selecting the site, allow approximately 5' (1.52m) of
clearance on all sides and 8' (2.44m) more than the
height of the building for assembly.Exterior dimensions
of 8' x 8' (2.44m x 2.44m) building:
Width: 8' 1 3/4" (2.48m)
Depth: 8' 1 3/4" (2.48m)
Height: 7' (2.13m)
Concrete Slab Option
Slab should be 4" (10.16 cm) thick. To provide the best
support for your building and to ensure that the corners
are square, the slab must be completely level and free of
bumps and ridges. Follow Building Code requirements and
provide a moisture barrier as specified by your concrete
contractor. OPTIONAL: Use Concrete Sealer paint on
cured concrete floor to prevent moisture buildup in build-
ing.
