3.2. Conditions for connecting to the gas network
The premises for the installation of gas appliances must comply with the guidelines of the national legislation
in the particular country. If the appliance is to be installed in another country, the national regulations must
be observed during installation.
These lava stones chargrills can be installed as:
Type A appliances: no connection to a flue evacuating outside burned gases; the room should be equipped
with means (fans or hoods) capable to keep healthy the environment avoiding concentrations of harmful
substances.
Type B2 appliances: mandatory installation under hoods with safety interlock systems.
According to said national regulations, such rooms must have:

Appliances adapted for propane-butane gas combustion cannot be installed below ground level (e.g.
cellars) and there must be no more than two 11 kg propane-butane cylinders in the room.

The cylinders should be located at least 1.5 m (5 ft) from heat emitters (heaters, stoves, etc.), except
for the set with cylinder cabinets..
Caution: If the chargrill is supplied by a gas cylinder, the compartment housing the cylinder should be
separated from chargrill body and should be correctly provided with openings to keep fresh and aired the
environment around the cylinder. The compartment should be designed to fit only one cylinder with a
maximum load of 20kg. The total thermal load of the device (sum of all burner loads) should not exceed 12
kW.

Do not place the cylinder near any appliances that generate sparks.
•
The cylinders should be stored in a vertical position and protected against impact, overturning, acciden-
tal displacement.
•
The temperature in the room where the cylinders are installed must not exceed 35°C.
The lava grill may be connected to a propane-butane tank or gas installation only by a person
authorized to perform installation services. Adapting the lava grill to another type of gas should
be performed by an authorized installer.
The LPG lava grill should be connected to a flexible hose (propane-butane hose with safety mark „B") via a
seamless steel pipe of at least 50cm. The cable should be secured with clamps at both ends against slipping.
The length of the hose cannot be less than 1.2 m and cannot exceed 1.5 m. The propane-butane (B/P) gas
cylinder must be equipped with a gas pressure reducer up to 3.7kPa
A natural gas lava grill (E) should be connected to the gas installation inside the building rigidly or by means
of flexible metal hoses with an updated safety mark. Use a pipe union and a 1/2" seamless pipe. The lava
grill has a threaded connection with an R 1/2" thread.
During the first installation of the device and after each change of supply (another type of gas), the supply
pressure must be verified with a manometer. The spigot for pressure checks is on the supply pipe before
the valve. . After removing the cap on spigot and connecting the manometer through a flexible hose,
the pressure shall be measured with the appliance on and the value of supply pressure must be included
between the minimum and maximum values according to the type of gas.
