• Mid-strap (Fig. 1): Fasten the midstrap by passing it behind
the calf, inserting it through the corresponding D-ring on the
opposite side of the calf shell and back onto itself. Make sure
this is secured snugly, as is the primary suspension strap.
• thigh strap (Fig. 2): The thigh strap passes through the
slotted thigh strap attachment and doubles back onto itself.
• Dynamic strap: The D.F.S. spirals on a diagonal around the
back of the leg and threads through the D-ring on the front of
the thigh shell, then fastens back onto itself (Fig. 3). The calf
strap passes through the lower D-ring and doubles back onto
itself (Fig. 4). Finally, bend the knee to 80° and retighten the
D.F.S. When the D.F.S. is adjusted correctly, it tightens each
time the leg approaches extension (Fig. 5). Secure any
accessory straps that may have been added to improve brace
suspension and/or ligament support.

and care. Follow these easy steps to keep your knee brace in top
condition.
• Hinge Lubrication: A tube of heat resistant silicone lubricant
is supplied with each Ossur brace. Apply a small quantity with
a toothpick or similar device to the inner surfaces of the
hinge, where visible. Lubricate the hinge several times a year.
do not disassemble the hinge!
• Liner cleaning: All liners may be hand washed using a sponge
or soft cloth and cold water with mild detergent. Rinse
thoroughly and air dry.
• Strap cleaning: Straps may be hand washed using a mild
detergent soap and a soft brush, then rinsed thoroughly and
air-dried. do not remove straps.
• reconditioning: Wear and time may take thier toll on your
brace. Your brace can be fully reconditioned.
