– To change the volume level or switch off the audio signal,
push the acoustic signal button 34 until the requested vol-
ume level is indicated on the display. At low volume level, the
audio signal indicator h appears on the display with one bar;
at high volume level, the indicator appears with three bars
(only available for the highest frequency). When the audio
signal is set to off, the indicator goes out. When pressing the
audio signal button, a short audio signal sounds first for con-
firmation, then a second short audio signal sounds in the se-
lected volume level.
Independent of the selected audio signal setting, a short beep
for confirmation sounds at low volume level and the set frequen-
cy each time a button is pressed on the measuring tool.
– To change the frequency, press and hold the audio signal
button 34 and briefly press the On/Off button 42. A brief au-
dio signal in the selected frequency sounds each time for
confirmation.
The signal tone setting is maintained after switching the meas-
uring tool off and on again.
Working Advice

Strobe shield
Protection
The measuring tool is equipped with an electronic filter for
bright sunlight. The filter prevents, e. g., interference from the
warning lights of construction machines. Effective operation of
the filter is possible only when sensor 37 is not obstructed and
clean.
Marking
When the laser beam runs through the centre of the reception
area 35, its height can be marked at the centre mark 40 right
and left on the measuring tool. The centre mark is located
50,8 mm away from the top edge of the measuring tool.
When marking, take care to align the measuring tool exactly ver-
tical (for horizontal laser beam), or horizontal (for vertical laser
beam), as otherwise the marks are offset with respect to the la-
ser beam.
Attaching with the Holder (see figure C)
With the holder 48, the measuring tool can be fastened to a "Cut
& fill" rod 50 (accessory) as well as to other auxiliary tools with
a width of up to 65 mm.
– Screw the holder 48 to the retainer opening 47 on the rear
side of the measuring tool with fastening screw 51.
– Loosen locking screw 49, slide the holder, e.g., onto the "Cut
& fill" rod 50 and tighten locking screw 49 again.
– The holder 48 can be horizontally aligned with help of the
spirit level 52.
A measuring tool mounted out-of-level leads to faulty meas-
urements.
