2.7 Personal protective equipment

In this manual, the following staff qualifications are listed for the dif-
ferent tasks:
Assembly staff
The assembly staff are the persons designated by the operator to
carry out assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting for the lifting
column. The operator must ensure that the staff deployed are
qualified to carry out the assembly work.
Based on their professional training, knowledge and experience, as
well as their knowledge of the relevant regulations, the assembly
staff must be capable of carrying out work assigned to them and of
independently identifying and avoiding potential hazards.
The assembly staff are specifically trained for the area of responsi-
bility they work in and are aware of the relevant standards and reg-
ulations.
Qualified electrician
Based on their professional training, knowledge and experience, as
well as their knowledge of the relevant standards and regulations,
the qualified electrician must be capable of carrying out work on
electrical systems and of independently identifying and avoiding
hazards.
The qualified electrician is specifically trained for the work environ-
ment they work in and is familiar with the relevant standards and
regulations.
Personal protective equipment is used to protect persons from their
safety and health being put at risk during work.
During the different tasks, staff must wear personal protective
equipment which is indicated separately in the individual sections
of this manual.
The personal protective equipment is described below:
Protective clothing
Protective clothing is close-fitting work clothing with a low tear
resistance and close-fitting sleeves, and without protruding parts.
Protective gloves
Protective gloves are used to protect the hands from friction, abra-
sions, punctures or deeper injuries, as well as when touching hot
surfaces.
