Connect branch A11, 1-pin pin contact, blue wire, from changeover module A to black 8-pin speaker connector
X18196 at PIN 28.
Unplug pin contact (3) of speaker cable (2), blue/brown wire, from PIN 29 of black 8-pin speaker connector X18196.
Connect unplugged 1-pin pin contact (3), blue/brown wire, from speaker cable (2) to branch A10, 1-pin socket
contact, blue/brown wire, from changeover module A.
Connect branch A12, 1-pin pin contact, blue/brown wire, from changeover module A to black 8-pin speaker
connector X18196 at PIN 29.
Reinsert black 8-pin speaker connector X18196 with connected branches A11 and A12 from changeover module A
in door isolating connector (4) in direction indicated by arrow.
Reassemble door isolating connector (4).

Connect existing yellow 3-pin socket housing (1) of speaker cable from telephone speaker to branch A8, bordeaux
or possibly yellow 3-pin pin housing, green and yellow/black wire, from changeover module A.
Vehicles produced after 9/98
Connect existing bordeaux 3-pin socket housing (1) of speaker cable from telephone speaker to branch A8,
bordeaux or possibly yellow 3-pin pin housing, green and yellow/black wire, from changeover module A.

Branch A8 from changeover module A is not required and is tied back on vehicles without SA 640 or
without fitted telephone speaker.

The encoding of the changeover module A must be discussed and agreed upon with the customer.
Coding loop A5, blue wire, must not be changed.
If the customer requires that the radio is not muted during a navigation announcement, coding loop A6, white wire,
must be cut through at the changeover module and the wire ends insulated.
Secure changeover module A with cable ties on vehicle wiring harness in area of A-pillar.
Concluding jobs
Reassemble parts in reverse order of removal.
Reconnect battery.
Carry out function check.
Print out fault code memory.
Encoding
This system does not require encoding.
