Operation | EPS 708 | 47
1. Remove the drive coupling 1 686 401 024
(fig. 8, pos. 2).
2. Secure the Oldham drive flange 1 685 702 090
(fig. 10, pos. 2) to the flywheel (fig. 10, pos. 1)
of the EPS 708. The tightening torque of the bolts
is 95 ±2 Nm.
3. Mount the clamping flange (fig. 10, pos. 5) on the
common rail pump (fig. 10, pos. 6).
4. Insert the common rail pump with clamping flange in
the clamping bracket (fig. 10, pos. 4) and secure.
5. Clean the groove in the drive flange and apply a
small quantity of oil.
!
Only use connection pieces (fig. 10, pos. 3) that are
not dirty or damaged.
6. Insert the connection piece in the groove of the
drive flange.
7. Check that the connection piece moves freely in
the groove. If the connection piece does not move
freely, replace it.
8. Position the common rail pump on the mounting
bracket of the EPS 708.
9. Slide the common rail pump into the connection
piece, taking care to ensure that the connection
piece can still move freely in the groove.
10. Secure the clamping bracket to the mounting
bracket using the two bolts.
11. Check once again that the connection piece moves
freely.
