The iSTM robot mount serves for accommodating the welding torches in exact
position. The mount is fastened to the robot by means of cylinder head screws
and a plastic intermediate flange. In order to cover the required performance
ranges, there are two different mount versions available – air-cooled and
liquid-cooled. For iSTM mounts, the TCP coordinates are the same as the
coordinates of the corresponding welding torch. For iSTM mounts, a range of
different standard welding torches is available. TheiSTM robot mount is a torch
seat without integrated collision protection. The collision protection or the
switch-off of the robot is only possible via the robot control.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up.
For the entire duration of maintenance, servicing, dismounting and repair
work, the following instructions must be adhered to:
• Switch off the power supply.
• Cut off the compressed air supply.
• Pull the mains plug.
NOTE
• The iSTM mount may only be put into operation by trained personnel.
• For the correct attachment of the iSTM mount and the hose assembly, set
the 4th, 5th and 6th axes of the robot as follows: 4th axis = neutral
position, 5th axis = inclined by 10°, 6th axis = neutral position
This chapter gives you all the information that must be taken into account when
putting the iSTM into operation.
