5. Putting into operation

Take the CPG 2000 INV out of the packaging and set it down at the intended assem-
bly site. The machine must be horizontal. Remove dirt and dust so that the air cooling
of the generator cannot draw in any foreign objects.
The generator is equipped with a low-oil safety feature. This convenient technology
automatically stops the engine when the engine oil falls below the required minimum
level. Because the generator is delivered without operating materials, it is essential
that it is filled with engine oil before first use. The engine can be started only when a
sufficient quantity of the oil has been filled. When filling with the operating materials,
observe all of the relevant instructions and specifications cited in these operating in-
structions.
5.1. Tests before start-up
Check the engine oil level
Note:Always switch the engine
off before checking the engine oil level.
Use 4-stroke oil. The use of SAE 15W-40 is recommended for
general use in different temperature ranges. The other viscos-
ities stated in the table can be used if the average tempera-
ture in the area of application lies in the stated range.
1. Remove the maintenance flap (fig. 4).
2. Unscrew the oil filler screw (fig. 5, no. 22) with the oil adapt-
er provided and clean the dipstick with a clean cloth.
3. Insert the dipstick into the oil filler port without turning it. If
the oil level is below the middle of the dipstick (min.) add
engine oil until the oil reaches the top mark (max.) on the
dipstick.
4. In order to add engine oil, screw the oil adapter into the
oil filler port and use the oil filler can to top up the oil.
5. Screw the oil filler screw incl. dipstick back into the oil fill-
er port. Ensure that it screwed tightly into place so that no
oil can escape.
5.2

Check the fuel level

1. Check the fuel gauge and fill the fuel tank if the fuel level is too
low.
2. Use unleaded petrol with min. 90 octane rating (E10 is al-
so suitable).
3. Remove the tank cap (fig. 7, no. 2).
4. Fill with fuel to a maximum level of the bottom of the filter in-
sert (fig. 8, no. 24).
5. Close the tank cap.
