An integrated collimator reduces the intensity of the background radiation. The counter is located in
the spectrometer chamber and is mounted on the 2Theta arm of the goniometer. More information can
be found in part 2 Technical Specification.

Helium or Nitrogen Supply

A helium or a nitrogen cylinder with a double pressure reducer (200 bar / 2 bar) must be provided for
the S4 with gas flushing system for analysis of liquids and loose powders. We recommend a double
pressure reducer with a two-stage reduction valve such as the product with the part no. C79298-
A3228-C11. It is recommendable to use a compressed-gas cylinder with 50 l contents and 200 bar
filling pressure. The cylinder must be supported to prevent it from falling over.
