4. Plaster may have to be removed or added.
5. Fabricate the socket as usual.
6. Grind material away over the socket insert until set screw is fully
exposed.
7. Unscrew the set screw to remove socket from cast.
8. Ensure the cap and rubber membrane and air filter have been removed
prior to shortening the treads to prevent debris lodging in the airways.
9. Measure socket wall thickness at insertion point with a caliper, and
shorten the threads accordingly using a hacksaw and smooth edges.
important: Do not shorten the threads beyond 4 mm (3/16") as it may
affect the seal and increase the risk of the valve breaking off (Figure 3).
ASSEMBLY.
1. Assemble the inner housing to the outer housing. Ensure that the
inner housing snaps in place.
2. Apply silicone adhesive to the threads and housing, where it comes in
contact with the socket.
note: It is not recommended to use epoxy or similar as it can
compromise the seal.
3. Install valve and adjust the orientation of the tube connector. Tighten
with a 5mm hex key.
note: Be careful not to over-tighten as it may damage the threads.
note: After installation distribute silicone adhesive around the valve /
socket contact point to ensure an air tight seal.
4. Ensure the valve parts and airways are free from debris before final
assembly.
5. Replace rubber membrane to cap. Ensure the concave surface is
facing the cap cavity (Figure 4).
note: When reassembling ensure the membrane is on the cap and
not in the housing.
6. Insert one air filter to valve inner housing and rubber membrane to
cap (Figure 1).
7. Screw the cap on using the cap key.
