6. After applying a light, complete coating of CentraLube™ oil or
grease (depending on shock orientation) to both the proximal and
distal ends of the compression element, place the element into the
proximal opening of the Total Shock
adjustment plug by rotating clockwise.
7. Installing the perforated rotational elements: The holes shall face
posterior on the lateral side and anterior on the medial side to allow
for more stability. (Figure G)
8. Turn the adjustment plug CLOCKWISE for stiffer compression.
COUNTERCLOCKWISE for a softer compression.
Note: The minimal setting of the proximal adjustment plug should be
flush with the top edge of the Total Shock

Please be advised: If you are using a Total Knee model 1900, 2000 or
2100 with the Total Shock
extension assist model 2070 or 2070S you should use the A-433120
(100kg), A-435120 (166kg) Long Distal pyramid Adaptor connected to
the A-342100 (100kg), A-345100 (166kg) Tube Clamp Adaptor. Either one
of the A-433110 (100kg), A-435110 (166kg) or A-433120 (100kg), A-435120
(166kg) can be used in the distal end of the Total Shock
The clamp must be positioned posteriorly (never medially or laterally).
(Figure H)
Orange Vertical Compression Element is optional in models 4400 and
4410 when the Yellow Compression Element does not provide sufficient
resistance. This may be appropriate for your high impact use, i.e.
recreational activities.
Maintenance and Inspection
The Total Shock
trouble free service. To ensure proper function it is recommended that
the Total Shock
lubricated every six months.
Six Months Inspection
Visual inspection checklist:
1.
No cracks in housing.
2. Vertical compression and rotational control elements are not worn
or cracked.
3. Large and small O-rings on axle are in place and show no signs of
damage or wear.
4. Rotational control element is in position with its widest side
horizontal.
5.
Retaining ring is in place.
Cleaning
In a clean environment completely disassemble the Total Shock
all surfaces of the Total Shock
amount of kerosene or acetone. Note: Do not use any stronger solvents.
Lubrication
Note: If the Total Shock
distally CentraLube™ oil should be used at all lubrication points. If the
