Closing device
B
If the remote control has been mislaid, the window can be
closed by pressing a pointed object into the hole next to the
stop button.
Note: After the closing device has been activated, it takes
about 30 seconds before the window operator starts closing
the window.
9
Manual operation of the window:
The window may be manually operated. The window oper-
ator engages and disengages automatically.
Cleaning the pane
A
Do NOT open the window by means of the window oper-
ator!
The power must be switched off.
Pull the control bar to open the window. Rotate the sash fully
and secure by engaging the sash barrel bolt into the bushing
at the bottom left hand corner of the frame. This allows both
hands to be free for cleaning. Close the window.
Disengaging chain
B
If the chain needs to be disconnected when the window is in
the open position, press the release button on bracket. The
chain can be re-engaged by running the chain back into the
window operator and then closing the window manually.
If the chain does not run back because of power failure, fold
the chain as shown and close the window.
Maintenance of the window:
10
Before carrying out steps B, E and F, switch off the power!
Minimising condensation
A
Particularly in rooms with high levels of humidity, conden-
sation can form on the surface of the inner pane of the win-
dow. This can be minimised by fitting a radiator directly
below the window and by airing the room frequently.
Cleaning the air filter
B
The air filter can be removed and washed in household deter-
gent. Fully rotate and lock the window in cleaning position,
then remove the filter from the filter rail. (New filters are
available from VELUX).
Maintenance of timber (GGL)
C
Pre-varnished (TOPfinish) and painted windows (PAINTfinish)
The timber has received basic treatment and a finished coat-
ing at the factory and can be cleaned with household clean-
er. It must receive further treatment at least every four years
and whenever required. Windows exposed to strong heat,
strong sunlight and/or high levels of humidity (eg in kitchens
or bathrooms) must, however, receive treatment at least every
two years.
4
Surface maintenance: Remove surface treatment (varnish or
paint). Prime the timber. Ensure surface is clean and dry and
apply a coat of waterbased acrylic varnish/paint (always fol-
low the manufacturer's directions). Apply the same method to
the affected areas if the varnish/paint is damaged.
Cleaning the window (GGU)
D
The white polyurethane surface can be cleaned with ordinary
household cleaners.
Cleaning the flashing
E
Leaves and other debris should be removed from the flashing
around the window once per year to allow rainwater to flow
freely.
Cleaning the rain sensor
F
Dirt on the rain sensor may cause operating problems.
Therefore, it is recommended to clean the rain sensor with a
soft wet cloth once or twice a year or when needed.
11
Fitting of rain sensor:
Fit the rain sensor as shown, if this has not already been
done. If the rain sensor gets wet, the window operator auto-
matically closes the window.
The power must be switched off when fitting the rain
sensor!
Installation on top cover of window (GGL/GGU)
A
Adhere rain sensor to a dry, clean surface. Lead cable into
the window as shown.
Installation on roller shutter (SML)/awning blind (MML)
B C
Adhere rain sensor to a dry, clean surface. Lead cable under
roller shutter/awning blind so that the window can be
opened when the roller shutter/awning blind is rolled down.
Then lead the cable into the window as shown.
12
Blinds and roller shutters:
The window is prepared for fitting of blinds and roller shutters
as shown. Product availability may differ in your country. For
further information, please contact VELUX.
Added features:
13
Several INTEGRA roof windows can be connected and
operated centrally from keypads on the wall or through the
connection to home automation systems.
Each window can be connected to an external battery
backup (WLB) for operation in case of power failure (ill. 12).
For further information, please refer to appropriate instruc-
tions or contact VELUX.
