The Genuine parking distance warning system should be installed by a qualified workshop. Incorrect installation

may lead to damage to the vehicle or the parking distance warning system.
The Genuine Park Distance Control system is not suitable for fitting on vehicles which have subsequently been

lowered (sport suspension, etc.).
Under certain circumstances, the steps described in these instructions may vary as a result of model updates. For

example, changes to wiring colours or even the fitting location should not be ruled out. Please therefore ensure
that you refer to the latest circuit diagram or workshop manual for the vehicle.

1.1 Painting the sensors

Note
Sensors -1- and sensor supports -2- must only be painted in the vehicle colour if the bumpers are painted. Do not

paint if the bumpers are not painted.
The sensors -1- must not be cleaned with silicone remover prior to painting. Use a mild alcohol, such as e.g.
◆
industrial alcohol, instead.
The sensors -1- and sensor supports -2- can be painted in the supplied plastic holder, this is intended as painting
◆
device.

Note
The sealing rings -2- that are mounted or will be mounted between sensors -3- and sensor supports -1- must not be
painted!
 If not already done, clip out sensors -3- from the sensor supports -1- and remove the sealing rings -2-.
 Clean the sensors -3- and sensor supports -1- and clip together with the plastic holder (see page 1, Fig. 1).
 Paint the sensors -3- and sensor supports -1- evenly and not too thickly in the same colour as the car.
 Repaint as necessary after drying, e.g. clear varnish for twin coat painting.
1.2 Fitting the components
 Shut off all of the consumers, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
 Remove the luggage compartment floor mat from the vehicle.

Remove the left-hand side luggage compartment trim from the vehicle.
