To change the standard setting of the shock-warning
function when switching on the measuring tool, pro-
ceed as follows:
– LM800GR: With the measuring tool switched off,
press and hold the grade "down" button 1 while
switching the measuring tool on.
– LM800DP: With the measuring tool switched off,
press and hold the button for anticlockwise rota-
tion of the rotation head 20 while switching the
measuring tool on.

Working without Automatic Levelling

With the automatic levelling switched off, the
rotational plane can be inclined in the direction of the
X- and Y-axis within a range of ± 10 %. Additionally,
the measuring tool can be set up in any inclined posi-
tion.
With the gradient plate (accessory), the measuring
tool can be inclined at an exact angle alongside an
axis when in the horizontal position.
Position changes of the measuring tool are
not detected when the automatic levelling is
switched off.
Switching Off the Automatic Levelling
LM800GR – Note: When the measuring tool is in the
vertical position, automatic levelling will not take place
regardless of whether the automatic levelling is
switched on or off.
In order to switch off the automatic levelling, the
shock-warning function must be switched off (shock-
warning indicator 9 not lit). Then, press button 8 to
switch off the automatic levelling. The indicator for
working without automatic levelling 7 flashes.
LM800GR: With the grade buttons 2 and 1, the rota-
tional plane can be inclined in the direction of the Y-
axis within a range of ± 10 %.
LM800DP: With the grade buttons 21 and 20, the
rotational plane can be inclined in the direction of the
Y-axis within a range of ± 10 % when the measuring
tool is in the horizontal position and in rotational oper-
ation. With the remote control 30, inclining is also
possible in point and line operation.
With the remote control 30, the rotational plane can
be inclined within a range of ± 10 % when the measur-
ing tool is in the horizontal position.
LM800DP: With the remote control 30, the rotational
plane can be inclined within a range of ± 10 % from
the vertical line (e.g. for sloped facades) when the
measuring tool is in the vertical position.
To switch the automatic levelling on, press button
8 again so that the indication for working without auto-
matic levelling 7 goes out. Before switching on the
automatic levelling, set up the measuring tool in such
a manner that it is within the self-levelling range.

Accuracy Check of the Measuring Tool

Influences on Accuracy
The ambient temperature has the greatest influence.
Especially temperature differences occurring from the
ground upward can divert the laser beam.
The deviations play a role in excess of approx. 20 m
measuring distance and can easily reach two to four
times the deviation at 100 m.
Because the largest difference in temperature layers
is close to the ground, the measuring tool should
always be mounted on a tripod when measuring dis-
tances exceeding 20 m. If possible, also set up the
measuring tool in the centre of the work area.
Apart from exterior influences, device-specific influ-
ences (such as heavy impact or falling down) can lead
to deviations. Therefore, check the accuracy of the
measuring tool each time before starting your work.
To check the accuracy, select rotational operation
and, if required, use the laser receiver to mark the cen-
tre of the rotating laser beam.
Should the measuring tool exceed the maximum devi-
ation during one of the tests, please have it repaired
by a Bosch after-sales service.
Checking the Levelling Accuracy in the Horizon-
tal Position
A free measuring distance of 30 m on a firm surface in
front of a wall is required for the check. A complete
measuring procedure each must be carried out for the
X- and Y-axis.
– Mount the measuring tool in the horizontal position
onto a tripod or place it on a firm and level surface
at a distance of 30 m to the wall. Switch the meas-
uring tool on.
– After the levelling, mark the centre of the laser
beam on the wall (point I).
