Danger!
Danger of death due to falling
When the glass surface of the WDF is subjected
to weight there is a risk of falling, because the
glass is fragile. The glass surface of the WDF
must not be stepped on or subjected to a load.
When working on the installation opening, there is a risk of
falling. People working on the installation opening must be
secured, e.g. by means of a safe position, using a safety belt
or by scaffolding.
When working on the WDF from an incorrectly secured
cleaning position there is a risk of falling. The spring lever,
which secures the cleaning position, must be engaged prior
to cleaning operations.
Danger of death due to electric shock
When connecting Roto products to the electric supply line,
there is a danger of death due to electric shock. The connec-
tion lead must be disconnected from the mains power supply
before installation is undertaken by qualified electricians.
If mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified
personnel in accordance with national regulations.
Warning!
Crushing due to falling parts
When connecting / disconnecting the sash and
panel frame of the WDF, crushing may occur due
to the sash frame falling. The sash frame must
be connected / disconnected with the aid of appropriate
personnel or tools.
When inserting the WDF into the roof opening this may lead
to crushing - due to the WDF falling out of position due to ...
... the heavy weight. The WDF must be lifted by qualified
personnel only, and wherever possible by 2 people or using
appropriate tools.
... the roof opening being too large. The roof opening must
match the specifications stated in the installation instructions.
... mounting angles that are incorrect or not fitted. The
mounting angles provided with the product must be mount-
ed before insertion.
Operation of the WDF may cause crushing/pinching. You
must not put your fingers between the window and the sash
frame when operating the window.
When attaching the metal covers of the WDF, there is a risk
of crushing if the metal covers fall. You must ensure that the
metal covers have engaged and test this. Depending on the
region, you must check whether a snow guard is necessary.
Note!
Damage to the product due to force being
applied
When force is applied to the WDF, the WDF
may be damaged. The adverse effects include:
improper lifting of the WDF, dropping/falling of the WDF,
impact. upon the WDF. The WDF must be protected from
the effects of force at all times.
If the WDF is placed on the floor on its underside it may
be damaged. The WDF should be set down on its bottom
edge. If you cannot avoid putting the product down on its
underside, be sure to do this on a level, clean surface.
Putting down the sash can damage its seal.
The sash should only be placed on a suitable surface.
Damage to the product due to cutting tools
Cutting the box anywhere other than the section line, or
cutting the box too deep may cause damage to the WDF.
Use the marked section line to cut open the box and do
not deviate from it by more than 2cm.
Damage to the product due to snow load
High snow load can cause damage or restrict the func-
tionality of the WDF. In areas affected by snow, the local
construction standards must be observed and protective
measures taken, e.g. snow guards.
