Combination of USB Connection and LAN
(Wireless or Wired)
Using both USB Cable and Wireless LAN Connections
A computer communicates directly with the machine with a USB cable, while other computers
are connected over a wireless LAN (infrastructure mode).
It does not matter which connection, USB or wireless LAN, has been set up first. You can
connect to a USB-connected machine from another computer over wireless LAN, or connect to a
wireless LAN-connected machine from another computer via USB.
Important
A wireless LAN card or adapter must be installed in your computer to connect your computer to the
wireless LAN. These must be purchased separately.
Note
To connect to the Internet in a wireless LAN environment, you may use a wireless LAN access
point that has a router function as shown below. The configuration and the type of the device
vary depending on your network environment. For details, refer to your device's instruction
manual or contact its manufacturer.

You need to perform setup both on the computer to be used with USB connection and on the
computers to be used over wireless LAN.
