• Flashes green when the pump is switched on via
set follow-up time.
High water (item`14)
Red LED
• LIs illuminated in red when the high water alarm
was triggered.
Overload fault (item`7, item 11)
Red LED
• Is illuminated in red when the electronic excess
current release was triggered. This setting is made
via the DIP switch (see Section 6.2.3).
• Flashes red when the control is operated without
a load.
Winding fault (item`8, item 12)
Red LED
• Is illuminated in red when the thermal winding
contact (WSK) was triggered.
Service (item`13)
LED yellow
• Is illuminated in yellow when the service interval
set via the DIP switch (Fig. 2, itemd3) (see Section
6.2.4) has elapsed.
In order to increase operating safety, it is recom-
mended to carry out maintenance.
Meter reset is to be carried out by skilled person-
nel.
System parameters exceeded (item`13)
LED yellow
• Flashes in yellow when one of the following sys-
tem parameters has been exceeded:
• Pump switching operations per hour
• Pump switching operations per day
• Pump running time per hour
Corresponding values are permanently pro-
grammed and cannot be changed.
If a signal is output it is recommended to check the
system or operating conditions.
Meter reset is to be carried out by qualified per-
sonnel.
Phase sequence incorrect (only for three-phase
version)
If the phase sequence is incorrect, all LEDs flash in
sequence in an anti-clockwise direction (running
lights). An acoustic alarm signal is output and the
collective fault signal contact (SSM) is active.
6.2.3 Upper DIP switch (Fig. 2, item`1) above the
potentiometer
DANGER! Risk of fatal injury!
When working on the open switchgear, there is
a danger of electric shock from touching the live
components.
The work may only be carried out by skilled per-
sonnel.
Installation and operating instructions Wilo-Control EC-Drain LS2
To change the DIP switch settings, switch the
device so it is voltage-free and secure it against
being switched on again without authorisation.
Internal electronic motor protection (DIP 1-5)
To protect against motor overload, the excess
current release must be set according to the nom-
inal pump current via the DIP switches 1 to 5
(1.5-12 A).
It is deactivated:
• when the set nominal pump current is exceeded.
• after 1 s, when the current falls short of 300 mA
when the pump is switched on.
Deactivation takes place according to a triggering
curve stored in the software. After each excess
current tripping, the error must be acknowledged
with the Reset button.
If the DIP switches 1 to 5 are in the OFF position,
the lowest current value of 1.5 A is set. If one or
several DIP switches are pushed to the ON posi-
tion, the value of the respective DIP switch (table
below) must be added to the basic value of 1.5 A.

Nominal pump current 7.5 A
2
1,0 A
+ 2.0 A (DIP switch 3)

+ 4.0 A (DIP switch 5)

4,0 A
Test run (DIP 6)
To avoid relatively long idle times, a cyclical test
run is provided. The test run is activated / deacti-
vated via DIP switch 6 (ON/OFF).
A test run takes place for 2 s after the pump has
been idle for 24 hours.
Buzzer (DIP 7)
The internal buzzer is activated/deactivated with
DIP switch 7 (ON/OFF). If the voltage fails or if the
main switch is switched off, the buzzer cannot be
deactivated via the DIP switch. Here, the
rechargeable battery (accessory) is to be removed
from its holder, if necessary.

eter
DANGER! Risk of fatal injury!
When working on the open switchgear, there is
a danger of electric shock from touching the live
components.
The work may only be carried out by skilled per-

The electronic excess cur-
rent release is set via the
upper DIP switch, and spe-
cial functions can be acti-
vated, such as the pump test
run and buzzer.
