Sample Handling Wheel

The Sample Handling Wheel (SHW) is designed for the analysis of whole grain
samples and consists of a wheel-shaped structure driven by an electric motor. This
structure contains four main cell types.
The SHW contents are displayed in Fig. 2:3. They are from left to right, a check cell,
a filter cell, a sample cell and a reference cell. The flanges of each cell contain
notches arranged in a unique sequence so that they can be returned to the correct
position in the SHW.
The unique design of the SHW allows for thorough mixing of up to 0.4 l of grain to
obtain representative samples.
