8.1 Laminating instructions (Fig. 1 through Fig. 15)
If there is insufficient space between the inner and outer socket, then the 7 in1 Controller can be
laminated into the outer socket.
INFORMATION
Before handling and processing the Pedilen Rigid Foam 200 617H12=* and the Pedilen Hard-
ener 617P21, please read the corresponding material safety data sheet.
Before handling and processing the C-Orthocryl Lamination Resin 617H55=* or the
Orthocryl Lamination Resin 617H19=* and the Hardener 617P37=*, please read the correspond-
ing material safety data sheet.
Ensure sufficient ventilation of working rooms and spaces.
For your own protection wear appropriate respirator, protective gloves and goggles when sand-
ing the socket.
INFORMATION
Please note that for the following lamination technique, the 7in1 Controller lamination dummy
must not be fixed to the inner socket with double-sided tape or the like. It is only held in place by
the Perlon Stockinette 99B25. Modelling with Plastilin Clay is therefore not required.
1. Fabricate the inner socket. Cut Perlon Stockinette 99B25 to twice the length of the socket
positive. Pull over inner socket and tie off distally. Push the 7in1 Controller lamination dummy
under the stockinette and position, but do not fix in place (Fig. 1).
2. Pull the Perlon Stockinette 99B25 down, removing all folds, and tie off proximally. Verify the
position of the lamination dummy. Warm the PVC Bag 99B71 and pull it over the stockinette.
Tie the bag off and evacuate (Fig. 2).
3. Pour foam positive using Pedilen Hard Foam 200 617H12=* and Pedilen Hardener 617P21
(Fig. 3).
4. Remove foam positive from the inner socket. The contour of the lamination dummy can be seen
on the inside of the foam positive (Fig. 4). Grind the foam positive distally first.
5. Place lamination ring and lamination cover distally and mark contour (Fig. 5). Fasten the 7in1
Controller lamination dummy to the foam positive with double-sided tape in order to obtain the
contour during subsequent grinding (Fig. 6). Finish grinding foam positive (Fig. 7).
6. Make a hole with a diameter of approx. 15 mm and a depth of 10 mm in the distal area of the
foam core using countersink drill or knife (Fig. 8). Apply talcum powder to foam core.
7. Pull PVA Bag 99B81 over the foam core. Tie off the PVA bag proximally and distally. Cut off
excess bag in the distal area.
8. Switch vacuum on and place knot into the hole. Place adhesive tape over the knot (Fig. 9).
9. Mount lamination ring and lamination cover distally. Cut Perlon Stockinette 623T3=* to twice
the length of the socket positive, pull over the socket positive and tie off distally (Fig. 10).
10. In order to improve the socket's stability, it is reinforced with pieces of Carbon Fibre Cloth 616G12
placed around and along the length of the socket – these must be measured and cut to fit the
shape of the socket. To do so, the contour of the carbon fibre cloth pieces is determined with a
paper template and then transferred to the carbon fibre cloth.
