Make sure that with the 17M1 the compression spring is not tightened up to the stop, as this
can lead to increased wear.
3.2 Maintenance
The free-motion 17M2=1 and 17M2=2 Ankle Joints need no maintenance.
For lubrication of the 17M1=1 and 17M1=2 double-function joints, please use 633F7 Ottobock
Lubricant.
We recommend to check orthoses with these functional components every 6 months for proper
function.
3.3 Wearing Parts for Maintenance
Only the 17M1=1 and 17M1=2 double-function ankle joints require replacement parts.
Please refer to the list of replacement parts in Section 1.4 "Design/Replacement Parts".
4 Liability
The manufacturer's warranty applies only if the device has been used under the conditions and for
the purposes described. The manufacturer recommends that the device be used and maintained
according to the instructions for use.
5 CE Conformity
This device meets the requirements of the 93 / 42 / EEC guidelines for medical devices. This device
has been classified as a class I device according to the classification criteria outlined in appen-
dix IX of the guidelines. The declaration of conformity was therefore created by Ottobock with
sole responsibility according to appendix VII of the guidelines.
