Danger of injury by dismantling the safety valve
Pre-tensioned springs may suddenly be released when dismantling.
Never dismantle the safety valve.
u
Injuries if system-specific limits are not complied with!
The operating conditions for the safety valve may deviate from the system op-
erating conditions.
1. Not always the information in the documentation for the superior system.
2. Before assembly, contact the system manufacturer or AVENTICS GmbH to
clarify any contradictions or questions.
Danger of burns caused by hot surfaces!
Touching the surfaces of the safety valve and adjacent components during op-
eration could cause burns.
1. Let the relevant system component cool down before working on the
safety valve.
2. Do not touch the relevant system component during operation.
Risk of injury due to loss of the safety function!
Depending on the application, you must take appropriate measures to ensure
the safety function.
1. When implementing safety measures against switch-off surges, check
whether these extend the safety valve's switch-off time.
2. Check if the safety valve's electrical connection cables have to be routed
separately.
3. In case of high levels of machine vibrations, use appropriate vibration-re-
ducing elements when mounting the safety valve.
4. Avoid overvoltages. These result in solenoid burnout.
Danger due to high sound pressure level!
During operation, the sound pressure level of the device can reach up to 94 dB
(A). This may irreversibly damage the hearing.
Always wear ear protectors during operation.
u
3.7 Personal protective equipment
1. Wear appropriate protective clothing during assembly and maintenance.
Note the applicable occupational safety regulations for the system.
2. Always wear ear protectors during operation.
3.8 Responsibilities of the system owner
As the owner of a system that will be equipped with an AS3-SV safety valve, you
are responsible for
• ensuring intended use,
• ensuring that operating employees receive regular training,
• ensuring that the operating conditions are in line with the requirements for
the safe use of the product,
• ensuring that no unauthorized repairs are attempted if there is a malfunction.
Other requirements for the operator:
1. Observe the information on assembly and operating conditions listed in the
operating instructions or the data sheet.
2. Comply with the further requirements of ISO 13849 (e.g. CCF, DC, PL
ware) if you intend to use the product in higher categories (2 to 4).
3. Make sure that the maximum number of switching cycles (B10
ceeded within the service life T
20 years). If the expected number of switching cycles for a component ex-
ceeds the B10
value during its period of use, suitable exchange intervals have
d
to be specified.
4. Switch the AS3-SV safety valve at least once a month to ensure its proper
function.

6 Transport and storage
The AS3-SV safety valve is packaged to protect it from contamination.
Do not remove the packaging until just before installing the valve.
6.1 Transportation
Danger of injury from dropping!
The safety valve can weigh up to 4185 g and cause injury if it falls.
1. Always transport the safety valve carefully.
2. Wear suitable protective clothing, such as safety shoes.
Safety valve damage due to falling!
If the safety valve falls, the product may be damaged even if no damage is visi-
ble.
1. Always transport the safety valve carefully.
2. If the safety valve has fallen, it must not be installed.
3. Check the packaging when you receive the product. If the packaging is
damaged, the safety valve must not be installed.
