Getting Started

5.1

Connecting the Power Supply

Procedure
Check whether the voltage specifications on the
t
manufacturer's ID label match those of the power
supply at the installation site.
If the input voltage is too high: Do not connect
t
the device to the power supply.
Contact Sartorius Service.
t
Check whether the country-specific power plug
t
matches the mains sockets at the installation site.
If necessary: Contact Sartorius Service.
t
Set the On | Off switch to the 0 position.
t
Connect the mains plug to the power supply at the
t
installation site.

Operation

6.1

Switching the Device On or Off

Procedure
To switch the device on: Set the On | Off switch to the
t
1 position.
The power supply LED lights up red.
y
To switch the device off: Set the On | Off switch to
t
the 0 position.
6.2 Neutralizing Electrostatic
Charge on Objects
Positive and negative electrostatic charge can be
neutralized.
Requirements
The device is switched on.
Procedure
Remove the ionization pin from the ionization pin
t
holder.
Point the ionization pin at a suitable distance from
t
the object to be neutralized (see chapter "12.4
Operating Area", page 14). The ion emitters must
point to the object.
Hold down the ionization microswitch.
t
The ionization pin is activated and both ionization
y
LEDs light up.
The object's electrostatic charge is neutralized. The
y
duration depends on the distance between the
ionization pin and the object (see chapter "12.5
Discharging Times", page 15).
To end the neutralization: Release the microswitch.

Place the ionization pin in the ionization pin holder.
