Wire feed motor not working

The wire feeder motor is activated with the start command, which also activates the inverter operation, or with the
Motor Test command via touch panel (1), (see Instruction Manual).
When starting the motor with the torch start button for the threading operation, do not bring the welding wire
or torch into contact with earth potential (welding bench or workpiece)
WIRE FEED MOTOR (11) TEST
□ Panel board (47), connector J16, terminals 1(+) and 2(-) = +3 ÷ +12 VDC approx., with MOTOR TEST pressed (see
Instruction Manual). Keeping MOTOR TEST pressed, the voltage rises from the initial +3 VDC to +12 VDC (regard-
less of the selected welding program).

MOTOR POWER SUPPLY TEST
□ Panel board (47), connector J20, terminals 4(+) and 3(-), voltage = +40 VDC approx., with power source powered.

NOTICE
Check the wiring between J16 of panel board (47) and wire
feeder motor (11).
With the power source off, temporarily disconnect the
terminals of wire feeder motor (11) from connector J16
on panel board (47) and check resistance between the
motor terminals that remain free. Correct value = 2 ÷ 4
ohm, approximately (motor winding resistance). If >Mohm
(interrupted winding), replace wire feeder motor (11).
Make sure that there are no mechanical impediments
blocking motor (11).
Check the direction of rotation of the motor; if incorrect,
reverse the wires on connector J16.
Replace wire feeder motor (11) and/or panel board (47).
Check the wiring between J20 panel board (47) and J11 of
power board (56).
With the power source off, temporarily disconnect J11
from power board (56). Power the power source again and
check the voltage on J11 on power board (56), terminals
3(+) - 1(-)= approximately +40 VDC with power source
powered. If not correct:
− Check the power supply voltages of power board (56),
by carrying out SERVICE TRANSFORMER (54) POWER
SUPPLY TEST and POWER BOARD (56) POWER SUPPLY
TEST, in section 3.3.1;
− check the efficiency of bridge rectifier B3, diode D20, ca-
pacitors C25 and C42, on power board (56) and service
transformer (54) (see connector map section 5.6);
− replace power board (56).
− If correct, identify faulty components on panel board (47),
based on the connector map in section 5.5.
Replace power board (56) and/or panel board (47).
