8.7 Slave mode with the mecablitz 40 MZ-...
8.7.1 Flash unit setting
• Set the operating mode selector of the mecablitz
at "TTL". In this case "TTL" means that the light
output is controlled externally and not by a
metering cell inside the mecablitz.
• The mecablitz automatically switches to slave
mode.
• "Remote" and "SL" (slave) are indicated on the
LC-display.
• The motor zoom reflector of the mecablitz is
automatically positioned at 24 mm.
• The AF red light emitter of the mecablitz flashes.
8.7.2 Initialising and testing the remote set-up
When the mecablitz slave is ready for firing the
controller must first fire a test flash to set or initia-
lise the slave unit for the given remote channel:
• Fit the controlling mecablitz with the SCA adapter
and mount on the camera.
• Activate the controller mode and select the
remote channel (see operating instructions of the
mecablitz).
• Await flash readiness of all flash units.
• Fire a test flash with the controller's manual
firing button.
• This will be acknowledged by the slave mecablitz
with a slightly delayed weak flash, which also
confirms that the remote set-up is functioning
properly.
