The slave adapter can transmit the modelling light
emitted by the controller to the slave. When the
controlling flash unit emits a modelling light, the
slave unit will also emit such light. No additional
settings have to be made on the slave unit for this
purpose. Once the modelling light has been
triggered on the slave it can only be interrupted
manually by switching off the slave unit.
The modelling light function is independent of the
adjusted remote channel.
The mecablitz 40 MZ-2 and 44 MZ-2 do not
support the modelling light function (ML).
8.10 Arranging the individual units
When several flash units are used simultaneously,
some of them may be equipped, for example, with
a bounce diffuser or colour effect filter. Moreover,
individual flash units can be directed towards a
reflecting surface (ceiling or walls). In all instances,
the Metz Remote System will consider the entire
amount of light reflected by the subject.
This fact makes it possible to diminish the intensi-
ty of the flash from individual flash units by way of
light reducing filters (optional extra).
8.11 Deactivating the slave mode on the mecablitz
8.11.1 mecablitz 44 MZ-2 / 54 MZ-3/4 / 70 MZ-...

adapter.
• Equip the mecablitz with an SCA adapter or the
