Proceed as indicated in section 13.1.3
14) Fusion Procedure
The electrofusion machine provides the right amount of energy needed by fittings in order to carry out a proper fusion cycle.
The welder shall be qualified for the fusion procedure adopted.
There are several programs for the qualification of welders, among which are those that refer to the standards ISO/TR19480,
EN 13067 and UNI 9737. There are different fusion standard procedures: ISO 11413 and UNI 10521. In any case you can use
qualified fusion procedures (WPS) related on the customer experience.
These are some indications for a satisfactory fusion:
- Clean the pipe and/or the end part of the fitting (spigot end);
- Protect the clean part against dust and other contaminants;
- Fix the pipe and/or the end part of the fitting (spigot end);
- Check the alignment and the distance between the inside part of the electrofusion fitting and the pipe and/or the end part of
the fitting (spigot end);
- Use re-rounding tools in the presence of out-of-round elements;
- Prepare the parts to be fused by scraping the external surface (0.2 mm / 0.0079 in);
- Mark the insertion depth on the surface of the electrofusion fitting;
- Be sure of the ECU's proper maintenance and fusion operation and verify ECU's compatibility with the required fitting
parameters;
- Use the correct fusion parameters and strictly follow the written procedure.
15) Maintenance
This electronic device is mainly designed for its use in construction of underground installation. Integrity Fusion Products Inc.
used the applicable legal references and between them ISO 12176-2 and UNI 10566 standards. Other technical documents,
including ECE1, DVS 2208-1, etc. were taken into account. As required into documents mentioned above, this ECU is subject to
a periodic maintenance. The period between two single maintenance (revision) is 1 year. If this device is often used to the limit
of its possibilities, maintenance should be performed at shorter intervals. During the maintenance operations, the welder will
be updated to the latest version and on the replacement of components is applied a guarantee of 3 months. Maintenance is
necessary to ensure the accuracy of the electrical parameters and in order to obtain a reliable fusion. It must be carried out by
Integrity Fusion Products Inc. or by an authorized laboratory.
